No mother imagines welcoming her baby into the world this way.

Just before giving birth, this young mother was abandoned by her husband, who left her for another woman. She gave birth alone, with no partner by her side.

Instead of taking her newborn daughter home, she has spent every day in the NICU praying for a miracle.

Her baby girl is only 4 weeks old and has been fighting since the day she was born. She suffered meconium aspiration, requiring intubation and intensive care. Her tiny body has endured more than most of us can imagine.

Now doctors have told her that her daughter cannot eat on her own and will need major surgery, including a fundoplication and placement of a feeding tube, to help her survive and grow.

While trying to be strong for her baby, this mother is also caring for her three daughters and facing another devastating reality...

She is behind on rent.

She owes $500 from last month's rent, has an eviction court hearing next week, and must also pay July's rent of $1,359. Losing her home while her newborn remains hospitalized would be heartbreaking.

She is not asking for luxury—only for the chance to keep a safe home for her children while her baby fights for her life.
