So many of you have asked how you can help, and your caring spirit and generous offers have meant so much to us. I absolutely detest having to ask for charity, but I am going to. Alayna is preparing for Cornell University, a very prestigious Ivy League in Ithaca, New York.

Alayna is a 4.3 student, a cheerleader, ran track, cross country, co-founder of a sign language group, National Honors Society, Math and Science Clubs,, while also volunteering in her community at the local nursing home with seniors facilitating arts and crafts and board games and working a part-time job. The funds will be used for travel, items needed at Cornell, books, food, room and board, part tuition, dorm needs and extra out of state university expenses.

Just a few days before we found out that Alayna got accepted to Cornell, I was committed and accepted into graduate school at WSU to pursue my doctoral degree, which comes with more outstanding bills. We had no idea. Not to mention that Alayna is a senior with graduation, prom, and so many other senior costs that we have no way to make all of this happen but by being humble and turning to our family and friends to try and help Alayna get to Ithaca because she has TRULY EARNED IT.
