As Carri's parents it has been very difficult to watch her painful struggle to adapt to the outcome of the surgery on March 17. It was to relieve pressure on a nerve in her neck to regain use of her right arm. Prior to surgery Carri had lost the ability to work in her field of architecture because she wasn't able to use her right hand and arm but had the ability to walk, run and normal use of her legs. Since the surgery Carri has been unable to stand or walk, suffers chronic pain and limited movement in her right arm. She has also lost her capability to pursue her passion for yoga. At this point it is unknown if this is a temporary or long-term outcome.

Carri is a vibrant, strong, independent and courageous young woman in her prime who has faced many challenges. The goal is to walk again, to be physically and emotionally healthy and regain use of her right arm. It will be a long and arduous journey. Finances are stretched to the limit which adds more stress and anxiety.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to ease some of that financial burden and assist Carri with costs for rehabilitation and treatments which are not covered by Alberta Health Services including:

-physio appointments @ $100 per session. Recommended treatment is a minimum of twice per week.

-psychotherapy sessions @ $220 each.

-massage and craniosacral therapy @ $110 per session.

-an electric lift ($12,000 to purchase and install) to be able to use DATS services.

-purchase of equipment such as walker, wheelchair and other accessibility items which are currently on loan from the Red Cross.

-home renovations to accommodate mobility limitations.
