Hi everyone! 

My name is Charlotte Schweizer, and I’m a high school student from Washington State.

This spring, I have an incredible opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. — our nation’s capital — with my mom, Lorrane. She’s a teacher who loves history, and I’m thankful we’ll get to experience this together. It’s a dream trip that will let us walk through history side by side - from the Smithsonian museums to the Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol Building, and, most excitingly, Colonial Williamsburg!

We’re raising $6,743 total to make this trip possible. That amount covers travel, hotel, food, entrance fees, and a small souvenir budget. We’re fundraising through both FreeFunder and GoFundMe, and every donation on either site goes toward the same shared goal.

My mom is a part-time teacher and also homeschools me, so paying for this trip on her own isn’t possible - that’s why we’re asking for help. My mom has worked so hard to make things possible for our family, but money has been very tight. She’s been working, planning, and praying, but we can’t do this on our own. Any help — even a few dollars — means so much to us.

For me, this trip means more than sightseeing — it’s a chance to see the places I’ve read about in my history class and to connect what I’ve learned to real life.
