Help Cierra Smile Again

Hello,

My name is Cierra M. Reynolds. I am here to try to see if anyone would possibly care to help me to receive dental implants before it's too late and I don't have the bone left in my jaws to do it.

To start my story, let me begin with the fact that I grew up being a very avid and dedicated teeth brusher. I really did love my smile. It was my 2nd most complimented feature after my eyes. I actually never even had a cavity until I was 30 years old, which many people have found impressive.

But in 2012, at the young age of 27, I unfortunately had a bad accident happen. At the time, I was staying in my parents' garage while I saved up money for a place to live. I had a couch, a TV, and everything else I could need, except there was no bathroom out there, so I had to go into the house to use the restroom. All I remember is late one night, I woke up and needed to use the restroom. It was dark, but I knew where the door was. As I went to go inside, I later learned the next day, as I woke up in a pool of blood, that I had tripped over a large duffel bag that someone had put at the end of the couch in the walkway.

I was in shock as I walked into the house the next day. My mom's absolutely shocked and terrified face was the first thing I saw. She absolutely started freaking out, asking me what had happened. She told me to brace myself as we went together to look into the mirror. That's when I saw my hair was matted with blood, I had bit entirely through my upper lip, had cuts and bruises on my face, and most importantly, my front top teeth were chipped and missing.

We went to look in the garage and put two and two together that I tripped over the bag at the end of the couch, causing me to land face-first on the concrete floor, which knocked me unconscious, where I stayed throughout the night into the next day. We went out and found my 2 front teeth in the pool of blood with roots and all. After seeing a doctor, we found out I also had a small break in my nose.

My parents, my boyfriend, and everyone else that saw me in the months to come were absolutely horrified at my new appearance. I was absolutely devastated. At the time, I was not working due to the fact that I have lived on SSDI since I was 21 years old, due to a severe diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis and a rare muscle disorder called DA7 for short. By then I had already had 6 hand and wrist surgeries between both hands and surgery on both feet.

Shortly after the accident, my parents decided to generously help me pay to get my teeth fixed. The dentist decided to place a bridge in my mouth over the top of the chipped teeth and in place of the missing teeth.

After the pregnancy of my son in 2014, my back teeth started to deteriorate. I think it was due to post partum depression from being left by my partner of 10 years, leaving me a single mother to a 4 month old baby and maybe it was in part due to all the medications I've had to take over my whole life and part due to my crippling fear of the dentist. But once my back teeth dwindled down, it was only a matter of time before my partial was going to fall out, and come 2022, it did. I got a decade out of it.

Then that brings me to today. I am turning 40 this year on June 28th and I have decided it is time to try to get serious about trying to figure out some way to get some teeth done. I haven't been able to eat the food that I like or that is good for me for 3 years now. I have even encountered almost choking on pizza, which scared me to my core.

Having no teeth has kept me pretty isolated from people, including not wanting to get a job or go to church and it really sucks having people judge you when they notice. I miss being able to just truly smile in pictures with my son. I actually have always wanted another child, but I would have to feel confident enough to find a partner first.

Unfortunately, the teeth I do still have in the front on the bottom have been extremely worn down from having to make up for having no other teeth. But unfortunately I struggle with my muscles and joints more than ever and that leaves me not being able to work very much. That mixed with being a single mom, I have a very small fund and monthly amount that I can have go towards teeth.

I would really truly be so grateful for any help. I thank you for taking the time to read my story and I would be so thankful and appreciative if you could donate any amount.
