🐾 Meet Cody, a nine year old spaniel poodle rescue mix! Cody needs your help.

🐾 Cody recently suffered a tear to his right hind ACL in late November. Since then, he's been unable to fully place his paw down on the ground, except for brief instances to stabilize himself. It's severely limited his abilities to do his favorite things. He can't jump up on the couch to snuggle with mom while watching TV, jump on the bed to beg dad for snacks, or even jump on the chest in the front window to count the cars and bark at people passing by.

🐾 After consulting two veterinarians and a vet surgeon, it was determined that surgery is the best option for Cody. Unfortunately, the surgery option with the best post-op prognosis is the more expensive one. This surgery would make it less likely of re-injury and/or needing more surgery in the future.

🐾 The vet cautioned us to be careful of Cody's physical activity as too much could lead to him also tearing his left hind ACL. We try our best to limit his excitement and watch him closely when he's let out in the backyard. He can't chase the squirrels that run along the fence. He can't run to greet dad at the door when he comes home from work. He can't climb the stairs to spend time with his siblings when they come home. It's hard seeing how confused and anxious he looks when his sister, Amber, is taken out on walks without him. Amber isn't much a fan of going out without her big little brother, either. It's not easy telling a stubborn dog what to do! This means Cody needs to be monitored at all times. Even still, he can be a bit naughty and slip away when we're not looking.
