On December 26, 2023 Dale and Patty Hall woke up to a nightmare. Dale could not breathe. He was rushed to the emergency room where they found a softball sized tumor blocking his airway. They transported him by helicopter to Washington Hospital Center where they performed a tracheotomy and discovered he has stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Surgery is planned for January 26th to remove the tumor, his vocal cords, voice box, thyroid and lymph nodes. The lymph nodes will be sent to pathology for further testing to determine if chemo or radiation will be necessary. Doctors are also developing a plan to reconstruct his wind pipe. He is experiencing a lot of pain which they are trying to manage. This has been extremely hard for Dale, Patty and their whole family. The upcoming financial strain they are about to face is nothing they should deal with alone. The out of pocket cost for the medical supplies he will require cost around $1,000 per month. This does not include doctor visits, gas, food and other unforeseen costs traveling back and forth to Washington, DC. Dale and Patty are always the first ones to help anyone in need and never ask for anything in return. They both give so much of themselves to help others, now its our turn to help them.
