I’m reaching out to ask for help for my best friend, Doug, who is going through an incredibly difficult time. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he lost his job and is now facing eviction (the sheriff’s will come unannounced any day now). Doug has nowhere to go. Despite his best efforts to work things out, both his employer and landlord have been unwilling to provide the support he needs to stay on his feet.

Doug is a kind, hardworking person who has always been there for others. Right now, he and his emotional support dog are just trying to survive day by day. He owes over $2,000 in back rent and is being forced to leave his home, with little to no resources to get to his next steps. He is actively searching for an affordable room to rent, ideally in an LGBTQ+ friendly environment, but securing housing without a job or financial cushion has been extremely challenging.

We know that times are tough for so many right now, and we understand that not everyone can give a lot. But truly, every little bit helps—whether it’s enough for a meal, a night in a safe place, or even just sharing this fundraiser to help reach more people. Doug is doing everything he can to rebuild, but no one should have to face this alone.

Let’s come together and show him that he’s not.
