My family is currently dealing with a high-end narcissist. We have been stuck here since June, and we are trying to move away. My housing assistance was taken down due to the government saying it was no longer needed. I was on BRAP, a temporary housing relief, and I'm still on the Section 8 waitlist, have been for many years. My father took me and my kids in but then slowly started to control us. I can't work; I have to watch my brother because he doesn't want to, while acting like his wife, cooking, cleaning, and caring for the kids. I get a little bit of government assistance, which goes to paying him rent and getting my kids essential items such as diapers and medicine. We are trying to move to Tennessee, where we have people who have offered us help and are helping us make arrangements, but we need to get there from Maine and be able to get housing. I hate asking for help, but I have turned everywhere. Family has abandoned us and has abused us along the way. I just want to start over; I just need a little bit of help.
