Hi, everyone. I am a friend of an inspiring, resilient survivor. This young mother has several incredible children and has been raising them on her own for the past year after fleeing their abuser of over 10 years. Within the past year, she has overcome several more barriers emotionally, physically, and financially. Some of these included living in different domestic violence shelters, navigating the legal system to obtain full custody and orders of protection for herself and her children, and providing emotional support and stability to them in the aftermath of the violence they witnessed and experienced. She and her children continue to remain at an undisclosed location due to the safety concerns and risks of their abuser having access to them. She has done a phenomenal job ensuring that her and her children's stability, safety, and healing has been prioritized throughout their journey.
