My dad, Fernando Press, is deeply loved by our family. We’re asking for support as he faces multiple surgeries and a long recovery after being struck by a car on Halloween.

What happened

On Halloween night, my dad was involved in a pileup on I-17 northbound in the rain. His car was left stuck in the fast lane.

While waiting for police to arrive, he was standing off the roadway when another car swerved to avoid the wreckage and struck him.

The impact broke multiple bones and caused internal bleeding.

The driver fled the scene. Our family later learned through the investigation that the vehicle was unregistered.

His recovery

Doctors were able to stop the internal bleeding caused by a fractured pelvis. We are deeply grateful for the care he has received.

He still faces multiple surgeries for his back & hip with a long road to recovery. Our family is taking things one day at a time, focused on being there for him through the challenges ahead.
