On June 14th, First Officer Tim Carter was at the home he had just moved into in Knoxville when he fell ill, and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors discovered that a blood vessel had ruptured inside of Tim, and platelets had broken free causing some serious brain injuries.

Tim's road to recovery is to "rewire" his brain, to be continuously monitored, and tested until he can fly again. Currently Tim is experiencing headaches, numb facial muscles, and his balance isn't quite right making walking difficult. After contacting AMAS Tim and his family were told that the best case scenario would be a recovery in about 3-4 months, and realistically he may be sidelined for at least a year.

As PSA pilots it is great when we can come together to help our fellow pilots out. Tim has been one of those first officers that a captain and flight attendants can count on to keep things running, and pick up the slack when needed. His attitude is positively, and tremendously upbeat, and it's been heart breaking for us to see him fall ill like this.
