help fix my car for work

To anyone who reads this, I just want to ask for help with fixing my car to be able to use it to get to work for my new job that I’m doing after being let go from my last one April 30th 2025. I used up nearly all of what I had left of my money being recently charged nearly $2000 ($1,942) for repairs that a shop lied to me and told me my car needed which included being told I needed a timing chain and new variable valve timing solenoids as the reason behind my car problems after I described my car as having a serious loss of power and acceleration along with serious misfires like it was going to stall out. So before any work was supposedly done I specifically asked if it was an oil leak in my valve covers causing the spark plugs to be contaminated in oil since that was a previous issue that I had to get fixed before multiple times. The mechanic from this shop said it wasn’t my valve covers or my spark plugs and coils. He then told me it would be about a week for them to fix my car. So 9 days pass and I go to pick up my car just before they close. I open up my engine bay to inspect their work and I immediately noticed my coolant reservoir was lopsided and roughed up looking. When I mentioned it the mechanic, he then tries to tell me that’s how the car was when they got it. (Funny because I have pictures of my coolant reservoir not being roughed up and lopsided but ok). I also saw that the fan housing cover was cracked and now being zip tied together. I also saw that they applied RTV gasket seal on my plenum spacer in between the plenum spacer and the intake plenum. I was just so happy to have my car back so I didn’t make a big deal about it. So within minutes driving home my car is overheating. I call the shop mechanic and tell him what’s going on and the mechanic says to bring it back to the shop the following day. I get the car there the following day and 10min later the car is no longer overheating. Apparently they never bled the coolant to get the air out like I asked him and was told that they did. So I drive my car for about two days and the poor idling and misfires now seem worse than ever along with my car now having even more of a power loss (much worse acceleration) accompanied by weird noises when I push on the gas pedal. Worried even more so, I immediately contact the shop again and their mechanic tells me to bring the car back. So I get back to the shop once again and this time he removes one of my coils and the spark plug in it. This mechanic now decides to say it’s my valve covers leaking oil in to where my spark plugs are at. He now then tells me he can do that for me if I’d like to get it done. Now remember… I certainly ASKED SPECIFICALLY before they did anything to my car if they had checked to see if any of that (valve covers/oil leak/spark plugs/etc) was the cause of my power loss before they told me that I needed a new timing chain and new VVT solenoids when they did their “inspection” and was told it wasn’t. A BIG FAT lie! So after he tells me that he could do my valve covers for more $$$$ once again, I seriously felt I could not trust them with even doing their job properly any longer because they never even fixed the main problem I had to begin with along with the fact that they obviously didn’t inspect my car thoroughly. I also realized if my timing chain was broken the car wouldn’t have even been running at all. So I took my car home, I ordered valve covers from EBay and then put them in myself with help. During the removal of my valve covers I discovered that 4 of my spark plugs cylinders were filled with oil (which I couldn’t clean out since I didn’t have the tools for it) and that my coils were bad (one of them was broken and 2 others were not intact). So I replaced the broken coil costing me $81 for one coil! After I went to drive the car to see how if it would operate any better it still was driving horribly and during that short drive my compromised fan housing cover got ripped apart (since it was structurally damaged and placed back in to my car with a zip tie by this shop). I now saw that when the cover got shredded it had ripped out my connector that goes to the alternator for my power steering. So I decided that I would scan my car with a generic scanner I have to see what it was saying and it now says my power steering sensor is bad along with my cam shaft and crank shaft sensors being bad. I just feel so overwhelmed and upset at this point that I can’t sleep properly and I’m incredibly stressed out now feeling even more helpless. If anyone could help me so I can get my car completely fixed to be able to have it for work and to get around then that would be so greatly appreciated.
