❤️ Help a Student and His Family with Food & Essentials

Hello — I’m a teacher reaching out with a heartfelt request for support for one of my students and his family.

This student and his mother and aunt have been facing really difficult times. After a recent family separation, they were forced to move into a hotel. What was meant to be temporary has now stretched to several months, and resources are extremely limited. Food insecurity has become a daily struggle.

Recently, my student’s school computer broke, and while we’re arranging a replacement, he had to sell his mom's computer (the one he was using until replacement) just to help put food on the table. Today, he noticed used band-aids on his webcam and apologized — embarrassed — before sharing that his family had to donate blood just to have enough for a meal the previous day. He told me he’s often surviving on rice and beans just to get by.

The school social worker and I are doing what we can, but we don’t have funds to match the real needs this family has right now. I have sent the bare essentials to the student's hotel room to help for the week, but as a Mom of 3 and on one income myself I couldn't do much.

That’s why I’m starting this fundraiser — to help them get a Food Lion gift card that can supply groceries and essentials for the next month. Your donation — even a small amount — can make a huge difference for a child who just wants to learn.
