Help for Bill & Miranda

Hey everyone, my brother's wife, Miranda, had a series of strokes. They caused facial drooping, loss of feeling and tingling on her left arm and leg, memory issues and word aphasia (saying yes instead of no, mixing/confusing words).

Miranda was hospitalized on 3/7/21 and was diagnosed with Moya Moya, a degenerative disease of the blood vessels of the head and neck. Moya Moya can cause strokes, aneurysms and more. Hers is located at the base of the skull, which can be more difficult to access for surgery.

While in the hospital, she had another serious stroke. For a while, she couldn't talk and had no movement of her left side arm and leg. Miranda was in the neurological ICU for over two weeks, then after she was stable, was moved to a regular room. She was receiving speech and physical therapy while in the hospital and making huge amounts of progress. She's speaking much better now and walking with a cane, but still has word aphasia and memory issues.

Miranda was released from the hospital after 33 days. Now she is waiting for the bypass surgery to fix the Moya Moya spot in her skull the cause of her strokes.

They are in desperate need of assistance while waiting for her disability to begin, and Bill isn't able to work as much due to having to be at home with Miranda. He is currently trying to get to where he can work from home so he can be there if needed until Miranda is better able to do things on her own. Unfortunately, they did not have health insurance during this time, which makes the financial aspect even more difficult.

Thank you for any support, even if it's just positive thoughts and prayers. Please learn the symptoms of a stroke and hopefully save a life, seconds count! God bless!
