After a recent stress test, the doctors determined Mike had a previous heart attack. He was taken to Rochester General Hospital and had quadruple bypass surgery. The surgery was successful and he was discharged, despite having some complications. A few weeks after he came home, he was admitted to Cayuga Medical as a result from the previous complications that had not resolved on their own Today he is transferring from Cayuga Medical to a rehab facility. His memory, speech, movement, and basic functioning have all been impacted.

As a result of the lengthy hospital stays, ambulance rides, and necessary updates to improve the accessibility in the home bathroom, Mike needs some financial assistance. Since neither Barb or Mike would ask for financial assistance during this unexpected turn of events, his oldest children (Carrie, Jon, and Andrea) are asking on their behalf.
