Our widely beloved Suki has been diagnosed with cancer. Many of us have lived with Suki, taken her on walks, watched her get the zoomies on the beach, and cuddled with her on the couch.

Some of my most treasured memories involve taking her to beautiful places in nature. Suki is one of the first dog friends I made in Olympia, and I’m forever grateful for the time we spent together when she lived here.

This far along in the diagnosis there are a lot of unknowns. However, given that Suki is elderly and that chemotherapy may only extend her life by a few months to a year (while also being a painful and draining experience) Sam has chosen not to pursue cancer treatment. This fund is in place to help Sam prepare and afford a potential hospice visit, comfort care, end of life costs, and immediate grief support— so that accessing this doesn’t become a barrier later.
