For the past two years, I’ve been caring for my mom after she suffered a severe eye infection. After sixteen surgeries and losing her left eye, we’re still fighting to save her remaining vision. Being her caregiver means I can’t work full time, but I’m determined to find a way to support us both. 

I’ve always been passionate about technology, and I realized that building apps is something I can do from home while still being there for my mom. My first app, Lunara, is close to completion. Lunara is a private, elegant emotional support and guided conversation app for people who need someone to talk to, confide in, and receive thoughtful, non-judgmental guidance from. The only thing holding me back is the cost of getting started—Apple and Google developer enrollment fees, monthly software subscriptions, and maybe some affordable equipment. These are expenses I just can’t cover right now. 

I’m just a simple guy from Texas who was raised to put family first. That’s why I dropped everything to care for my mom. But I also dream of creating something that helps others and makes me proud.
