Help Fund My Service Dog

I’m raising funds to obtain and train a new service dog who will continue supporting my ability to navigate daily life with stability, consistency, and independence.

I currently have a service dog, Hope, who has provided critical, task-based support in my daily life. As she approaches retirement, I’m preparing for the transition to a successor service dog, Mariah, who will be trained to take over these responsibilities. This transition is essential—service dogs are not interchangeable overnight, and proper training takes time.

This is not about having a pet—it’s about maintaining access to a trained working dog that can perform specific tasks I cannot reliably manage on my own. While I’ve built systems and strategies to manage day-to-day challenges, they are not always consistent. When those systems fall short, it impacts my ability to function, work, and show up fully.

Mariah will be trained to:

  • Recognize and respond to early warning signs
  • Interrupt and redirect when needed
  • Provide grounding and stability during difficult moments
  • Assist with daily functional tasks that are currently difficult to manage independently

This level of support creates consistency that other tools cannot replicate—and it’s the same type of support Hope has reliably provided.

The funds raised through this campaign will go specifically toward:

  • Travel from the East Coast to Alaska
  • A one-week stay for in-person training with her professional trainer
  • Returning travel with Mariah after training is complete

This hands-on training is a critical part of ensuring a successful transition and setting both of us up to work effectively as a team from the start.

I am working toward this independently, but the cost of travel and training is significant. Beginning this process now ensures a smooth transition as Hope retires, rather than facing a gap in support.

If you’re able to contribute, any amount helps move this forward. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this page is just as valuable and appreciated.

This is about maintaining a level of independence and stability that has already proven essential in my daily life.

Thank you for being part of that transition.
