My name is Jonathan, and I've got BIG DREAMS. I'm a personal trainer in NYC - aka Marinejonfit , and in 2019- I started a franchise called Phase 1 Phitness (Still underway) I've been on that journey since 2016. How'd that happened you ask?

FOLLOWING THE VISION SINCE THE BEGINNING (August of 2019)

Unfortunately things didn't workout due to the timing of COVID. Global pandemic put everything on the back burner. (2020)

The ultimate goal for the FRANCHISE is to be the first black owned GLOBAL FITNESS FRANCHISE of it's kind. We're already set up in Finland with an entire team as well as Architect firm - ready to go. • My personal goal is to raise $1M on my own (meaning my own efforts)- to be comfortable to go to an investor with some "skin in the game" and to build my own leverage.

Well, here's the story -

Along this journey of LIFE, in March of 2017 - I got a devastating phone call. I had been seeing it in my dreams, but actively living in denial because I kept thinking to myself, shut up, its not true, ignore it. STOP thinking negative, what's wrong with you!? STOP IT! The day that I got the news from my baby sister on the other end of the line, I JUST KNEW SOMETHING HORRIBLE HAPPENED because she was crying hysterical - she told me Jonathan, Mommy died.

I LOST IT! Dropped everything and we drove down the same night. I haven't been the same since. They say, there's a turning point in life when things happen that give you perspective and this was truly a horrible time in this journey. AND, to make matters even more devastating, we lost our father figure Mr. Steve in January of 2017 just before Mama. So, not only have I personally been living in grief alongside my brother and my two baby sisters, I lost a good friend of mine in August of 2021, and our older brother was killed in November of 2021 by a hit-n-run. We found out he had been dead on the side of the road for 2 days and then found out on his birthday. 11/19. When I tell you I cried, I cried harder than when we lost mama. Losing a sibling hurts like hell. I pray no one has to live through that in their younger years. It's just awful.

I'd like to reiterate that this story is not about pity, but, I share it to say- this is not my story, but OUR story... I'm not so good with sharing, and I keep things in (which is probably why I'm not where I need to be yet) but this is me making an effort to just tell our story and be more vulnerable.

Growing up - in a two parent household was/is ideal for any child to see what a healthy relationship/marriage should look like. That happened to us until my age of 8 years old when mama and daddy filed for a divorce. So, after that happened we weren't always financially well off, but daddy did make sure we had, and did do what he could financially to help, but we also didn't have to worry about being homeless because of our church family and the people who were around us.

We had extended family outside of our bloodline that looked out for us and raised us as if we were their own, and to this day I thank God for every last one of them. (My heart wants to do something monetarily for those who were always there for us, and when I make it to that place financially - I will do just that.) As well as pay it forward. I had always told mama - mama I'm gonna build your dream house! Mama would say, "okay son." (clearly she was waiting for me to get older, because it was only so much I could do at 8 years old.) My brothers and I started a lil landscaping business at 8 years old. Our, father like figure - Steve Vonfange (RIP) gave us the tools to become successful by providing us with 2 lawnmowers and an edger. So, we would go out, one of us would cut the back yard, and one of us would cut the front yard, while the other one edged up the yard. When we were done, we'd collect payment and go back and give it to mama.

**One thing to note: AS we're older now and experienced, we now KNOW why people would always kind of chuckle when we would come up to their door and hand them our business cards, and laugh and say - sure go ahead cut the grass, I'll pay you after. - The name of our lil business was called, "The Threesomes" LOL! (WHY mama, and Mr. Steve didn't tell us otherwise) WE now know, they said, they'll learn lol! Anyway...***

As I got older - the realization hit (HEY I NEED TO ACTUALLY WORK TOWARDS BUILDING MAMA HOUSE) When you're young, you don't really know as much until you get older. (Which was my case) So, long and short, I started to switch my thinking - Oh wow, I actually need to have a BUSINESS GOING to have the MONEY to actually BUILD THE HOUSE! I was stuck in a boy's mentality of "I'm gonna build mama house one day" when no real VALID PLAN.

NOW, I have a VALID PLAN (60 page business plan)(and an 11 page pitch deck) to be exact.

So, now I have this great plan, but I have no real way of hitting that realistic financial goal in a TIMELY MANNER - one thing I've learned is (it's okay to ask for help) It's easier to ask for help when you're 100% willing to help yourself and learn from your mistakes (opposed to asking for a handout)

So - here's the full on plan. RIGHT NOW, the goal is to secure somewhere for my new family (and soon to be fiancé) to call home.

(She doesn't know I'm planning to propose on Christmas day) We have two cats, and a puppy. (In the pic). We live in a small studio apartment here in NYC, so it's definitely not big enough for us long term. One thing I've learned is, - you have to be paying towards some kind of home ownership. I told myself If I ever end up actually staying in NYC it'll be a really nice place and I should be wiling to compromise in the event I do find someone to settle down with. So, this is me following my dreams and claiming things in the name of the Universe!

UPDATE APRIL 8TH, 2024 - SHE SAID, "YES!" and we have two puppies now!

You can't take care of anyone else unless you can take care of yourself FIRST, so first things first is simply finding somewhere to just call HOME - a place that will have meaning when we walk in, and can kick off our shoes and know this is where we can raise kids one day potentially.

These are realistic renderings in regards to what's being planned, and as soon as I get the ball rolling, we'll make all this happen!

A DREAM without a PLAN is just a WISH. I've learned its important to PLAN. A lot of plans require financial backing. So, people ask me how can they help. Every little bit helps in regards towards building this future.

THE HOW IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN

UPDATE APRIL 2024: WE RAISED MONEY ON FACEBOOK - BUT THE ACCOUNT GOT HACKED AND SUSPENDED. So, now (That is taking some time to get some answers and get access back to the account. It's connected to the business)

UPDATE APRIL 2024 - I OFFICIALLY HAVE MY FIRST GOVERNMENT CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY (Which is also a part of helping me RAISE money once we start getting awarded) So, I have SET PLANS in MOTION as we speak. Due to the nature of the project I won't give too many details, but we are currently under our first application with the state of Delaware. Which is very exciting!

Due to the fact, these GOALS have steep financial requirements is why I decided to just put it out there and keep trying until I hit the goal. I have not and will not give up on my vision. GIVING UP IS NOT AN OPTION. The Franchise should inherently be the main source of taking care of anything financial when it comes to financing these home dreams, but the only challenge is with the business - due to COUNSEL - it has to be NDA, so I can't put out the business and everything that has to do with it in full (unfortunately)

WHICH has been a challenge in raising money. So, I decided to just put it all out there, and let people see - this isn't someone just "asking for money" - this is someone who is a visionary, is a leader, a clear planner and needs support to hit those goals.

I told my mama (last time I spoke to her) I was going to build her home, and I NEED to honor that, once we get to that level, we'll put her ashes alongside my brothers in a sanctuary that I designed inside the house.

I'm also in the midst of marketing a F.I.T.N.E.S.S clothing line that was designed to help raise support: The Fitness Friends for the franchise in particular.

I laid it all out there for the world to see, and now I'm going to get to work and do my part by continuing to build on that belief.
