Help Heather kick cancer
Hi Everyone,
As some of you know, and some are now learning, Heather recently went in with a lump of concern and within the last two weeks, was given the news that she has breast cancer.
Triple negative breast cancer. Stage 2/on the cusp of stage 3. At the age of 38.
This is one of the most aggressive and hardest to treat forms of the disease. Only 15% of breast cancers are TNBC, and it has the lowest 5 year survival rate and highest rate of reoccurrence. However, we are truly lucky to have caught it before fully coming into stage 3, and we are lucky that some recent breakthroughs in treatments within the last year have brought the event free survival rates up by a significant percentage.
To help Heather and Drew, we are raising funds to take care of all sorts of expenses related to her quick jump into treatment. Everything from cleaning services to ensure a good home environment while immunocompromised, meals, chemo approved skin care, personal care, items to help her during and after chemo, before during and after mastectomy, post surgery radiation, and chemo, as well as help with medical bills. This is going to be at least a year long treatment process for Heather.
The funding goal is not a hard number, just something we needed to have down on paper to get this started. Any and all help is welcome, if we surpass it, wundebar! There will be a need for it.
Funds will be going directly to Heather and Drew.
If you can't help financially but would like to offer your aid in other ways (laundry, groceries, chemo appointment buddies, etc) we will have a link to her linktree where you can find a variety of ways to contribute and show your love and support.
Thank you for loving Heather and coming together with us as her community to make sure we do everything possible to help her heal.
If you have questions, please feel free to reach out to Drew, Barbara, Rachel, or me (Vivi) via the email provided or through the discord server which can both be found on the link tree.
