JUST $98 WILL HELP JENNY

Newport's mobile mechanic needs a little help this time.

Hi y'all. I'm Jenny Kelley.

I'm 52 years old, originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and I've been proud to call Newport, Oregon home since March 2019.

Most people around here know me as the lady with the Southern accent who comes to you when your vehicle won't cooperate. 😂

I'm a local mobile mechanic, and I work around Newport and the surrounding communities, including Toledo, South Beach, Waldport, and wherever else somebody needs a hand.

I've always believed that if somebody needs help, you do what you can.

I don't have one set price for everybody. I charge what I believe is fair for the particular job and the particular situation, because I've been on the other side of that conversation myself.

I've helped a lot of people keep their vehicles going.

This time, I need a little help keeping mine going.

My 2009 Saturn VUE is both my everyday transportation and my work vehicle.

Unfortunately, the water pump needs to be replaced.

The good news is that I'm a mechanic, so I can do the repair myself. I don't need to pay somebody hundreds of dollars in labor.

I just need the parts.

I found the water pump I need at the O'Reilly Auto Parts here in Newport for $89.

I also need a tube of gasket maker for the water pump/thermostat housing, which is $9.

That's $98 total to get the repair done.

And honestly, asking for help for myself is a whole lot harder for me than asking for help for somebody else.

I'm usually the person saying:

“What can I do to help?”

Not:

“Can somebody help me?”

But the reality is that this isn't just a car that gets me from one place to another.

It's how I get to my customers.

If I can't get my vehicle back on the road, I can't do mobile mechanic calls.

And if I can't work, I don't have income.

So I'm swallowing my pride and asking my friends, customers, neighbors, and anybody else who happens to come across this to help me get through this little emergency.

I'm setting the goal at $125.

The first $98 will get the water pump and gasket maker I need to make the repair.

Anything above that will help with gas and a few basic necessities while I get myself back up and working.

If you can give $5, $10, $20, or whatever you can comfortably spare, I would be incredibly grateful.

And if you can't donate, please don't feel bad.

Sharing this fundraiser with somebody else may be just as helpful.

I've been lucky enough to meet a lot of good people since I moved to Newport, and I've always believed that a community works best when people help each other when they can.

So this time, I'm asking my community to help me.

Let's get Jenny's VUE back on the road so I can get back to fixing everybody else's vehicles. ❤️

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

And whether you donate, share, or simply wish me luck getting this thing fixed...

thank you.
