Help Jerry Billups
Jerry Billups's Big Dream was his very own Tiny House.
This lifelong resident of Tornado worked and saved for years to buy the structure and materials to build his tiny house. At long last, in September 2020, Jerry Billups had the structure delivered to where he intended to turn that house into a home. Since then, he has spent hundreds of hours and every cent he earns getting things ready. By New Year's 2021, Jerry was almost finished. He was just waiting for some inspections so he could get the utilities turned on.
But, on January 28, 2021, fire took everything from Jerry Billups and left him freezing in the cold.
Early that Thursday morning, Jerry went to his mother's house across the street for a shower and a quick breakfast before heading to work. Thirty minutes later, Jerry walked out of his mother's house and into a nightmare. His house had caught fire - everything was burning. Smoke was pouring out all the doors and windows. The fire burned so hot it melted the furniture to the floor, it melted the ceiling, it singed the walls,, and it consumed all of Jerry's personal possessions. The only things that weren't destroyed were the clothes on his back.
YOU are the solution!
Jerry needs your help now. He is self-employed in construction and lawn maintenance. But this freezing cold February weather limits the amount of work available for him to take. Anyone who knows Jerry knows that he is always willing to work. Winter is a difficult time for everybody working in construction, but it makes Jerry's position impossible. This fire could not have struck at a worse time.
He owes more than 10K on the structure that is essentially a total loss. He cannot afford to repair all the structural damage, replace and reinstall the materials he used getting the place habitable, and then make the monthly payments.
Jerry needs 15K to pay off the structure, clean-up and remove the fire damage, and get the material for him to get back on the road to where he was before the fire burned through his life.
Jerry is the kind of guy who does things the right way. He works hard, he saves, he goes to church, he treats people right. Please help Jerry rebuild.
Jerry is not looking for a hand-out, rather he needs some help up. Together, we can make it clear that a burned down tiny house is no match for the big hearts of this community.
