For more than six years, Joel has been battling blood cancer, including more than two years participating in a clinical trial with the hope of giving him the best chance of survival. But we're increasingly concerned that the strain of working through treatment is compromising his body's ability to continue fighting.

The toll on our family has been enormous. With one parent often sick or exhausted and the other stretched thin trying to keep everyone going, we've lost precious time and capacity to rest, recover, and simply be together.

We're raising funds to help cover Joel's medical expenses, give him the opportunity to step back from work and regain strength, and provide our family with some much-needed breathing room to recover, reconnect, and prepare for what's next.

Our hope is to give Joel the best possible chance of surviving cancer while finding ways to keep living throughout this long journey.

Our initial goal is $35,000, with the hope of raising at least half by November 16th to help make a leave of absence possible.
