Help Joseph Break Free
Joseph is facing non-violent charges in Christian County, KY, but his rights were compromised during entry, and he has been left in jail with zero communication from his public defender. We are raising $10,000 to post his $5,000 cash bond and hire a dedicated private defense attorney to ensure his constitutional rights are protected.
Why We Are Raising Funds for Joseph
Thank you for taking the time to read Joseph’s story. Asking for financial help is never easy, but right now, Joseph is sitting in jail without the legal representation he is constitutionally guaranteed, and we urgently need your help to fight for him.
On April 1, 2026, law enforcement executed an entry on Joseph’s apartment in Christian County, Kentucky. The entry was executed so rapidly that Joseph was given no reasonable opportunity to answer the door. During the arrest, the premises were left unlocked and unsecured by officers, resulting in the theft of virtually all of Joseph's personal belongings and valuables.
Joseph and another individual was arrested at the scene, Upon being taken to the police station, the individual whom was arrested at the scene was released and Joseph was then placed on a $5,000 cash bond.
The Breakdown in Defense
Since his arrest, Joseph has faced a complete breakdown in legal representation:
- No Communication: Despite submitting daily written contact requests through the jail kiosk system, Joseph’s public defenders have failed to meet or speak with him. Calls and messages from family have also gone completely unanswered.
- Unfiled Motions: Counsel promised to file an immediate Motion for Bond Reduction to lower his bail so he could return home to work on his defense. That motion was never filed.
- Incomplete Evidence: The legal discovery packet delivered to Joseph was missing essential pages and heavily redacted, leaving him in the dark regarding his own case.
Right now, Joseph is being left in limbo without active defense preparation while trial dates approach. Because I am on a fixed disability income, our family simply does not have $5,000 in cash for bond plus the thousands needed for a private criminal defense retainer.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Every single dollar raised through this campaign will be managed with complete transparency and dedicated exclusively to Joseph's legal freedom and defense:
- Cash Bond ($5,000): Paid directly to the Christian County Circuit Court Clerk to secure Joseph’s release from jail so he can assist in building his defense.
- Private Legal Retainer (~$5,000): To hire a dedicated private criminal defense attorney in Hopkinsville, KY who will challenge the constitutional violations during the entry, demand complete discovery, and aggressively represent Joseph in court.
