Help Joyce and Judah
Who are we?
We–Jackie, Guibin, and others–are leading the campaign for Joyce and Judah. Jackie first met Joyce and her son Judah early one morning outside Island Spa, where she sat on a bench holding his hand. We learned that Joyce and her son walked from a distant ShopRite overnight.
Who are Joyce and Judah?
Joyce is not only a loving mother, but a fierce protector, a relentless advocate for her sweet, non-verbal teenage son with autism. Despite the adversity they face, she continues to fight for a better future for herself and Judah.
When asked what she hopes to do when she overcomes this situation, Joyce shares her desire to work toward supporting others who are going through similar hardships. She believes that government agencies and workers need more support and help, and she wants to be a part of that change!
Why is fundraising necessary for Joyce and Judah?
Judah requires consistent care and attention, however, life has recently taken a difficult turn for Joyce and Judah. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they found themselves homeless for several weeks. They are currently staying in a hotel, but this is only a temporary solution as she is currently on the waiting list to hear back from government resource agencies to approve support.
How will your donations help?
What Joyce and Judah need now is stability: reliable transportation. Your donation will go directly towards helping Joyce purchase a reliable vehicle. A car would mean everything to them. It would also give Joyce the ability to:
- Get Judah to his doctor’s appointments
- Retrieve their belongings
- Utilize services accessible to them
- Seek employment opportunities
- Take care of day-to-day necessities
- Regain some sense of normalcy
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference to both Joyce and Judah! Your donations give them the tools they need to thrive and ensure that Joyce can continue to be the incredible mother and advocate that she is.
