Hello, I’m Kira — a full-time single mama to my youngest two children, ages 7 and 9. Recently, I made the difficult but necessary decision to move from Durango, Colorado back to Santa Fe, New Mexico to be closer to my older children, ages 12 and 14.

This transition has been both emotional and challenging. During the move, I reinjured my meniscus — an injury from five years ago — and have been waiting for weeks to get an MRI so I can start physical therapy as soon as possible. I already have over $1,300 in medical bills piling up, which is difficult to manage.

My van, which has over 260,000 miles, has been overheating and requires at least $1,500 in repairs to function reliably. While I’m hoping it can be repaired, there’s a chance it may not be salvageable, which would mean needing to find a new vehicle to support my family.

After building and running my own cleaning business for the past four years, I recently had to step away from it due to the move and other personal challenges. This has added to the financial transition I’m navigating as I work to rebuild stability for my family.

I’m currently in a work transition as well, having my younger children with me full time throughout the summer, but plan to return to full-time employment once school starts in mid-August.

I am proud and independent, but these unexpected hurdles have made it necessary for me to reach out for help. Whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this page, any support means the world to me and my children.
