Help Lisa Get Back on the Road + Mom UR-LOVED

“For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Inspired by Transformation:

In June 2019, Lisa embarked on a life-changing transformation. Through healthy habits and dedication, she lost a remarkable 150 pounds! This journey wasn't just about physical change; it was about rediscovering a passion. Witnessing Lisa's success, her friend Dan (a true champion!) encouraged her to revisit a long-dormant love – cycling.

Back in the Saddle and Hitting the Road:

May 2021 marked a special day. After 30 years, my 64-year-old Momma Lisa, climbed back onto her trusty Trek bicycle! Fueled by Lisa's inspiration and Dan's support, she wasn't satisfied with just getting back on the saddle. She craved the freedom of the open road. She dove headfirst into the Austin cycling scene, joining both Cycle Community Austin and Ride Bikes Austin. Within a year, Lisa was conquering 30+ mile rides on the beautiful trails and scenic Hill Country highways surrounding Austin. She quickly became a familiar face on the Tuesday Southern Walnut Creek Trail weekly ride, a cornerstone of the Austin cycling community.

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16

A Social Media Inspiration:

Lisa's dedication to health and fitness extends beyond cycling. She has become a social media inspiration, incorporating a daily 5-minute plank challenge on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

A Passion for Charity Rides:

Lisa's dedication to cycling extended beyond personal achievement. A year after returning to cycling, she participated in the Red Poppy Ride Georgetown, her first of many charity rides to come.

Resilience in the Face of Challenges:

Unfortunately, Lisa's journey hasn't been without obstacles. In April 2022, she faced a aquaplaning accident on her way home from the Tuesday Southern Walnut Creek Trail ride. Despite the setback and personal injuries, her commitment to cycling remained unwavering. Even when a city road mishap in July 2023 limited her to a one-armed plank, Lisa's spirit couldn't be broken.

A Collision with Fate:

August 2023 brought a more serious challenge. A collision with a deer resulted in a fractured collarbone and a broken thumb requiring surgery and permanent limitations on her grip. Yet, Lisa's passion for cycling and giving back continued. She and her cycling community actively volunteered at local parks and charity events.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

A Setback, Not a Defeat:

This past April, another unfortunate incident occurred. After attending the Celebrate Eeyore's Birthday ride with Ride Bikes Austin at Peace Park, Lisa's car was stolen. The car, unfortunately, also contained her beloved custom bicycle, all her cycling gear, and even her granddaughter's car seat. Despite this setback, Lisa's cycling community rallied. They secured her a free used bicycle through a non-profit organization, allowing her to participate in the recent Red Poppy Ride with her fellow riders.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

Help Lisa Get Back on the Road:

The stolen car has left a financial burden. The insurance settlement wasn't enough to cover the remaining loan balance, leaving Lisa with limited funds and no car.

We're raising funds to help Lisa replace her stolen car and essential cycling equipment.

Your contribution will get her back on the road, allowing her to continue participating in charity rides, volunteering in her community, and inspiring others with her unwavering spirit.

Let's help Lisa keep rolling!

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
