Help Lorian's Family

A family of five—spanning four generations—traveled to Pennsylvania to lay their beloved sister, aunt, and matriarch to rest. The family includes 93-year-old Phyllis and her 10-month-old great-great-nephew. The reason we drove to begin with was because my mom, Phyllis, was unable to fly due to a previous heart condition and the requirement that she remain on oxygen at high altitudes.

On our journey back home to the San Bernardino Mountains, another tragedy struck. Just past the Pennsylvania border into Maryland, a vehicle attempting a left turn slammed into us. The impact was violent, throwing our vehicle off the roadway and into a concrete culvert. By the grace of God, the car did not roll—a miracle that likely prevented another loss of life.

In the split second before the first impact, I (Lorian) saw the other car was going to hit us. I instinctively threw my body over my infant grandson to shield him from the coming blow while still constrained by my seatbelt. Praise God that the baby was protected, though I suffered badly bruised ribs and a traumatic injury to my right forearm, which has detached from the elbow. I now require emergency surgery back in California.

Phyllis, at 93, suffered head trauma, whiplash, loss of vision and hearing, and a severe laceration on her elbow that cannot be stitched due to her fragile skin. Because of her condition, she still cannot fly; our family must now navigate the 3,000-mile cross-country journey home by train. Every member of the family, except the baby, is also suffering from a concussion.

💔 This family has already endured the heartbreak of a funeral, and now they face unimaginable physical and financial hurdles. We are asking for your prayers and support as they begin the long road to recovery.

If you feel called to help, donations will go directly toward emergency medical care, specialized travel expenses for Phyllis, and the long recovery ahead. Every share, prayer, and act of kindness makes a difference. ❤️
