Help Me Bring the Best for Multilingual Learners to Our Schools

Every student deserves a teacher equipped with the latest research, strategies, and resources to help them succeed.

My name is Joanne Salvatore, and for nearly two decades, I have dedicated my career to serving students and educators. I currently work as a Multilingual Learner (MLL) Coordinator in New Jersey, where I support multilingual learners, coach teachers, lead professional development, and help schools create equitable learning opportunities for students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

This year, I have the opportunity to attend my first WIDA Annual Conference—the nation's premier conference focused on multilingual education. WIDA brings together educators, researchers, and school leaders from across the country to share innovative instructional practices, cutting-edge research, and practical strategies that directly improve student outcomes.

Unfortunately, my school district is unable to provide funding for me to attend. While I have applied for assistance and reached out regarding scholarship opportunities, I am also asking my community for help.

I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership and recently launched Joanne Bernadette Coaching, LLC, an educational consulting business focused on supporting educators, school leaders, and multilingual learners. Attending this conference would allow me to bring back the newest research and evidence-based practices to create professional development workshops, coaching sessions, presentations, and educational resources that can benefit educators far beyond my own district.
