Help Me March Drum Corps!
Hello friends! I'm reaching out to you with a heartfelt request for your support as I continue on a remarkable journey in the world of music and performance. Last summer, I had the privilege of joining the outstanding DCI open-class group, The Guardians Drum & Bugle Corps from Dallas. This winter, I'm thrilled to be marching with the WGI corps, Resistance Indoor Percussion from Tulsa. This summer's experience was transformative, and I'm excited to share my story with you.
My Summer with The Guardians:
The journey with The Guardians began with auditions in Texas last May, and with the guidance of my brother Foster, who served as my mentor, I was fortunate enough to make the final cut. This left me with little time to put together fundraising appeals, but the opportunity to be part of this corps was a dream come true, and I am genuinely grateful for the experience. Corps training commenced in late June in the middle of Texas, where our days were filled with 12-16 hours of outdoor rehearsals, learning intricate music, and demanding marching routines. Then on July 12th, we set out on our tour, competing with talented teams from across the nation at DCI events beginning in Abilene, TX, and finishing in Indianapolis. The season concluded with The Guardians reaching finals in open-class championships and qualifying to compete in the DCI World championships, a remarkable feat for our open-class corps, finishing 29th out of 43 DCI corps.
This Winter with Resistance Indoor Percussion:
This winter, I'm honored to be marching with Resistance Indoor Percussion (RIP) once again. It's my second year with RIP, and it's also my brother Foster's last season before aging out. RIP was promoted this year to World Class so we will be performing and competing against the top percussionists in the nation. We're both thrilled to be on the same team, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The Ask:
As I'm wrapping up my senior year in high school and working part-time at Dick's Sporting Goods, I'm actively fundraising to continue pursuing my passion for the marching arts. I'm humbly asking for your financial support, which will help cover the tuition costs for The Guardians from last summer and for Resistance this winter. Your generosity will support expenses such as travel, food, lodging, event fees, and staffing.
Your Impact:
Your support will enable me to gain invaluable experience in teamwork, competition, and unique leadership skills that are cultivated in this environment. These experiences will help me create lasting memories, and your generosity will leave a lasting impact on my journey as I follow my passion for music and performance.
Support Online:
You can donate on this site, or if you feel comfortable, you can contribute without any fees directly through Cash.app.
Conclusion:
Once again, thank you for considering my request. Your belief in me and this opportunity means the world. Together, we can create a future filled with unforgettable memories and remarkable achievements. I am genuinely thankful for your willingness to be part of this journey with me.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Caleb
