My name is Jennifer, and I am asking for help after losing nearly everything in the middle of unimaginable grief. In June, my husband died unexpectedly. While I was focused on being at the hospital with him, I had placed our valuables and belongings in storage back in April so I would not have to worry about our things during that crisis. Just yesterday, I was told the storage company mixed up my unit with someone else’s and destroyed everything I owned. That includes the belongings I still had from my husband and, as far as I know, even his ashes. I am devastated, heartbroken, and struggling to understand how so much could be taken from me at once.

Right now, I have almost nothing left and need help with immediate basics like clothes and hygiene items. I am also trying to get legal help so I can pursue compensation for what was wrongfully destroyed. The offer I received from the storage company does not come close to addressing what I have lost. I am grieving my husband, trying to replace basic necessities, and doing my best to fight for some kind of justice. On top of all that I just broke my arm in a freak accident tripping on a tree root it was to dark to see in my friends yard.
