Story:

Hi, my name is Trinidad Pena, and I’m reaching out with deep humility and hope.

I’ve been diagnosed with an arachnoid cyst (AC) — a rare and serious condition affecting the brain that has been causing me increasing neurological symptoms, pain, and disruption in my daily life.

I am in constant, worsening pain every day, and I currently have no access to pain management or any meaningful form of relief. I’m doing my best to stay strong, but I fear that remaining in New Orleans—without medical support or resources—could eventually push me toward destructive behaviors just to cope. That’s something I am trying very hard to avoid.

After exhausting local options, I’ve been advised to relocate to Southern California to access the specialized care I need at MemorialCare and nearby medical centers.

My target move date is September 1st, and I’ve managed to cover my expenses for that first month. However, after September, I will be completely on my own—without the financial means to stay housed or meet basic needs.

That’s why I’m asking for help to raise $10,000 to cover:

Moving expenses to California

Rent and housing support after September

Medical travel and health-related costs

Basic necessities while I stabilize in a new place
