I never thought I would be in a position where I’d have to ask for help like this, but I’m at a point where I truly have no other options.

After my dad passed away, everything in my life changed. Not long after, my health declined to the point where I physically couldn’t continue working. I applied for disability, but it took over 2 years to get approved. During that time, I had little to no income, and everything slowly started to fall behind.

Since then, I’ve been trying to survive on a fixed income, but it hasn’t been enough to catch up. I’m now about 10 months behind on my mortgage and also struggling with other bills, including extremely high utility costs.

Part of the hardship came from a solar system I was told would help lower my energy bills, but instead it made things worse. Even after adding a second system, my utility bills never improved the way I was promised, and I’ve been stuck dealing with the financial fallout ever since.

I’ve done everything I can to fix this — applying for help, working with programs, and trying to stay afloat — but I’m at a point where I’m facing the very real possibility of losing my home.

I’m asking for help to catch up on my mortgage and keep a roof over my head. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean more than I can put into words.
