Help Me Study Abroad!
Hey, Everyone. It's probably been a while since you've heard from me. I've been focusing really heavily on graduating with my Bachelors in Science of Education and learning how to be the best social studies teacher I can be. Someone worthy and educated enough to facilitate knowledge and understanding in the classroom. Which is what leads me to why I'm making this fundraiser.
I need your help to participate in a summer study abroad opportunity in Africa. Because of my excellent academic standing at Kent State University, my application to study in the "Rwanda: After the Genocide Against the Tutsi's" program was accepted! Being accepted was a huge milestone for me. This program will give me the opportunity to work with education students from Rwanda University and observe in classrooms. Observing lessons teaching students about the genocide against the Tutsi's in1994, to be exact. And we will learn about how they are healing their Nation through the Truth and Reconciliation process. But I will also have the opportunity of a lifetime to see some wild cats on a safari, visit one of the worlds only safe havens for gorillas, and get to eat lots of different foods. I feel so incredibly blessed to be given this opportunity.
But I still have a mountain to climb. One made of money. The cost for the program is $3,000, which covers everything including the flight. Which brings me to why this post exists. I am raising money to help fund my trip. I know that we all are struggling right now with the rising costs of living, so if you cannot donate that is absolutely fine, no worries, I still love you for even reading this far. But if you can donate $3, $5, $10, or even $3000 to help me out, it would mean the world to me. If every friend I have donates just a few bucks, the goal would be reached in no time.
I appreciate you for reading. Much Love,
Mariah
