Help my dad Jim Merrill

***UPDATE***

Jim is home and working to heal his body and mind. He still wakes up with nightmares frequently. The man who did this surrendered himself and bo died immediately back out. This has caused Jim and Susan more worry with him possibly retaliating as he did in 2014. We refuse to let this bastard win. Thank you for all your love and support.

My name is Sandi Allred and this is for my dad Jim. This is kind of lengthy but his story needs to be heard.

On Friday December 14th Jim was at work at Hires Big H in downtown Salt Lake City. A man, who lately has been loitering regularly, was parked in the Litzas Hires parking lot waiting for his wife to come out of Chipotle. Jim went to ask the man to move his vehicle, to which the man got verbally abusive. Jim backed up and told the man he didn't have to take his abuse and would let the police take care of it. As Jim started to wall back towards Hires the man proceeded to turn into Jim and run him over, he then backed up over him again. He then went full throttle towards the employees at the car shop area, barely missing them and further injuring people. My sister Syndi had to watch the entire event.

Jim will be out of work for quite some time now. He has to have reconstructive surgery on his right foot, his knee had a large chunk taken out, he has multiple broken ribs and has been very traumatized. Top it off that he is having horrible nightmares about being run over. He will need months of not only physical but emotional therapy.

We would like to make sure my dad and sister are able to get the help they need to work through this. Anything helps when it comes to this matter. Please, if you cant help financially, help by sharing so as many people can see what this monster did to my family.
