5 years ago, Rebekah was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 38. It took her and our family several years to come out of the fog of trauma while immediately jumping into weekly chemotherapy appointments, weekly transfusions and drug regimens; all while requiring 24-hour round the clock care from family. Rebekah spent several years with uncontrollable nausea/vomiting and was unable to get out of bed on her own. During this time, I (mom) fought for my life with kidney disease in the ICU for 3 months and had to learn to walk and function again. By the grace of God, I was able to get myself to the position where I could care for my baby as best I can. I am currently doing dialysis 3 times a week but somehow, I am still able to be there. For the first time in my life, I am reaching out to ask or help. We have finally found a treatment that gets Rebekah out of bed, to where she is finally beginning to be able to live again. For the first time since diagnosis, she's able to ride her stationary bike, push a cart at the grocery store and go to church. I have given everything I have to keep the treatments going as I see her improve, but I am truly taxed. There are no other avenues, things to sell, or resources to tap into.
