Hi my name is Marina and I currently live in a small rural town with my partner and our 9 year old. This past fall my partner's mother was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. She decided to move to our town in order to spend what time she has left with her kids and grandkids. We all currently live in a small two bedroom cabin and, due to an affordable housing crisis, we cannot find a place big enough for all of us in our price range.

A friend of my partners has graciously given us a slice of his land in order to build a house on it. However, it is quite a distance away and we currently cannot pay to commute that far. I am the person with the steady income for our household with my partner working on and off in construction. We are reaching out for help in the hopes that we can get a start on putting a home on this property sooner rather than later. What we would like to do with these donations is to build a temporary structure that my partner can live in while he, and some of our friends, build our new home. I would stay in our current home with our child and his mother. After the bigger place is built the temporary structure would be reinforced for a bathhouse/sauna house. Some of the furnishing that will be going into the temporary living space for my partner would be placed in the bigger home.
