I'm Kelsey, I'm a grad student studying physical therapy. Myka is my incredible 7 month old mutt. Myka was adopted in May and has changed my life compeletely. I have been diagnosed with clinical depression and an anxiety disorder that causes frequent anxiety attacks and ticks. Myka is the only thing that has made a difference and improved my mental health. Myka is more than an emotional support animal; since she came home, I have trained her to alert me to anxiety attacks, provided deep pressure when I am having ticks, and more.

After a trip to the ER this weekend, we learned that Myka has a heart murmur, arrhythmia, and a heart defect leading to Dilated Cardiomyopathy. We have already paid almost $1000 for testing. Myka will need more tests as well as four or more medications. With the right medications, Myka may be able to live a long, happy life. But we need all the help we can get.
