Help Nova Move Easier

I am starting this fundraiser for my 5 year old granddaughter Nova who was diagnosed not 2 months ago with Ewing Sarcoma. A rare and aggressive cancerous tumor that began on her hip. In just a blink of an eye this precious little girl's whole life was turned upside down. ES is a type of bone cancer that primarily targets young children. We do know that she is metastatic and we know the cancer has reached her bone marrow. A few weeks ago she began Chemotherapy treatment at children's mercy hospital and has since lost most of her hair and is now wearing wigs. Princess Nova has temporarily lost the use of left leg that the tumor began on and she is currently bound to a wheelchair. Her life as she knew it is over. Nova will spend her life in and out of these hospitals, doctors and staff will be normal people to her. And this is the life she must adjust to. Even at the tender age of only 5 years old, Nova has shown more courage than any of us around her. She still has a smile on her beautiful face and you would never guess what this child is going thru. No child should ever have to suffer thru this, it truly is heartbreaking.

As I sat in bed last night thinking of ways I could be of some help to Nova, it occurred to me that there are indeed things that would bring her more comfort in her daily life. As a former nurse and having worked in long term geriatric care centers I am familiar with lift and transfer techniques, which are all pretty well useless to Nova because she must be lifted and placed wherever she needs to be, bathroom, tub, couch, bed. All of the transfers make Nova uneasy because it causes her a great deal of pain as her bones are deteriorating and the cancer rages on. Any how, I have put together a small list of medical equipment that I feel would be beneficial and make her life easier. Being in a wheelchair will leave her susceptible to bed sores and such which are awful..if the caretakers aren't experienced in these things. Here are just a few items I would really like to see Nova have. I've set the goal of this project at $2000 which should cover the costs of these devices. Some items are quite affordable actually and if anyone would like to make the purchase rather than donate cash that's perfectly fine and we all appreciate any assistance we can find. I know times are rough these days for us all.

I just cannot let Nova struggle to move about and in pain from any movement. This lift is going to be her saving grace and also for whoever is currently the one lifting and transferring. She still has a very long road ahead so please keep praying for her and thank you to all of you who are supporting us and showing love and concern in any way. Yall are amazing and I'm so glad you're here with us.

Please share this around and see what we can accomplish for this little SuperNova!! Love ya guys!
