Help Papa Come Home
Help Bring Our Hero — Papa — Home
My name is Brittany, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family for someone who means everything to us — my grandfather, our hero, and the heart of our home.
Papa is a proud retired Navy veteran who has spent his life serving his country and caring for his family. He and my grandmother Judy have been married for 55 years. Together, they’ve endured deep heartbreak — including the tragic loss of their firstborn son at just 15 years old — and have built a life centered around love, strength, and selflessness.
Two months ago, Papa was hospitalized and has been fighting for his life ever since. He’s survived the amputation of both of his legs, despite doctors giving him only a 1% chance of surviving each surgery. He continues to battle congestive heart failure, artery disease, painful bed sores, and recently suffered a mild stroke due to artery blockages in his brain.
After his first surgery, Papa was placed in a nursing home where he was neglected and mistreated, leading to further complications that ultimately required his second leg to be amputated. He is now back in the hospital, suffering — but still fighting — and all he wants is to come home.
Our home is not the same without him.
Those of us living in the home and caring for him include:
• My grandmother Judy (his wife of 55 years)
• My mother Tina
• My stepdad Kevin
• My boyfriend Danny
• And me, his granddaughter Brittany
Papa also has close family supporting from outside the home:
• His grandson Justin
• His son Joe (my uncle)
• And our close family friend Rodney, who is also helping organize this effort to bring Papa home.
Papa needs 24/7 care — far more than what his insurance covers (which currently only includes 1 nurse visit and 3 therapy sessions per week). To bring him home with dignity and the comfort he deserves, we are asking for help to provide:
• A hospital bed and major home accommodations
• Private in-home hospice and medical care
• Mobility and hygiene supplies
• Legal and end-of-life planning support
• Assistance with future funeral-related costs
• Support for his beloved dogs, Beau and Beck, who he has always cared for and who are waiting for him at home
Papa is the one who always held our family together. He provided for us, protected us, and gave us unconditional love. Now, as he nears the end of his journey, we just want to give him peace — to bring him home, reunite him with the family and dogs he loves, and let him pass in comfort, surrounded by those who love him most.
If you can, please donate — any amount helps. And if you’re unable to give, please share this with others. Your support means more to us than words can express.
With love and gratitude,
Brittany, Judy, Tina, Kevin, Danny, Joe, Justin, Rodney & Family

Thank You Message to Donors
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Your kindness and generosity mean more to our family than words can ever express. Every single donation — no matter the amount — is a step closer to bringing our beloved Papa home, where he belongs, surrounded by love, comfort, and peace.
You’re helping us provide the care, equipment, and support he needs after all he’s endured — and allowing him to spend his final days in the place he built with my grandmother, with his dogs Beau and Beck by his side, and with his family surrounding him.
Your support is not just financial — it’s a reminder that we are not alone in this. You’ve given us hope, strength, and the comfort of knowing there are people out there who care.
