I never thought I would be in a position where I had to make a fundraiser and ask people for help like this, but right now I have to put my pride aside and do what I can for my kids.

Over the past year, my family has been dealing with an incredibly difficult situation involving the courts and DCS. I don't want to go deeply into the legal details because my children's privacy matters, but one of the biggest goals throughout this process has been getting my family into a safer, more stable home in a different school district.

DCS was supposed to help us with the financial assistance needed to make that move happen. I did my part. I searched, applied, made calls, worked with everyone involved, and finally found a place that would give my family the opportunity for a fresh start. Unfortunately, the assistance we were told would be available has not come together the way it was supposed to.

Now I'm stuck in the worst possible position: I found the home we need, but I may lose it because I don't have the money to get us through the door.

Our current house is no longer financially sustainable. Things are constantly breaking, repairs and bills keep piling up, and staying here longer only puts me further behind. More importantly, getting into the new home would put my children in the school district they need to be in and give us some stability after a year that has already asked far too much of them.

I'm not asking for luxury. I'm not asking for someone to fix my entire life. I'm asking for help getting my children and me across this one last gap so we can finally move forward.

Every dollar raised will go toward the costs of securing the apartment, moving, and getting my children settled into our new home as quickly as possible.

I've spent a long time trying to handle everything thrown at me and keep moving forward for my kids. Right now, I need a little help from my community to get us to the other side of this.

We have the opportunity for a new home, a new school district, and a fresh start. I just don't want us to lose that opportunity because the help we were depending on never came through.
