Help Rebuild After Fire
On Sunday, April 19th, my dear friend suffered a tremendous loss when a faulty kitchen appliance caught fire, gutting her apartment and causing thousands of dollars in damage. Thankfully, the rapid response from the fire department and the quick thinking of her family, who were home at the time, kept the fire from spreading and creating even more damage. Unfortunately, the home is not insured, so the entire financial responsibility for rebuilding and replacing what was lost falls on her and her family. Not only that, but she and her family have endured people arriving uninvited to their home, prying about the fire and seeking a portion of the insurance money, which does not exist.
This has been especially difficult because several items destroyed in the fire were irreplacable, handmade items passed down in her family for generations. Though money cannot replace the precious sentimental items that were lost, it can help lessen this sweet family’s burden and bring restoration and healing after a devastating accident. Please consider donating even a small amount towards this cause.
