Our family is going through an incredibly difficult time, and I’m reaching out for help after an accident turned our lives upside down.

Just 45 days after financing a vehicle with the help of my parents, we were involved in an accident that completely totaled it.

Although insurance covered part of the balance, we still owe money on the loan. Unfortunately, we did not have GAP coverage, and because I recently entered a debt repayment program, I’m unable to qualify for another car loan right now. I’m trying to pay off the remaining balance so this financial burden doesn’t fall on my parents, who helped me during a time when I truly needed it.

On top of losing the vehicle, we are now facing medical bills from being checked and treated after the accident. Our insurance will not cover these expenses because we do not have personal injury coverage.

To make things even harder, I had given my only other vehicle to my oldest son just two days before the accident after his car broke down while living out of state. I do not have a car any longer, although currently borrowering my parents. 

I’ve been trying to sell belongings around the house to help raise money, but it hasn’t been enough. This situation has placed an overwhelming amount of stress on our family, and I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat and move forward.
