Help rescue stray Ginger

Dear New Friends and Family,

My name is Ginger, I am almost 11 years old and in mid-November, on a chilly weekend afternoon, I was found roaming around the streets of Vermont. I was hungry, and shivering and don't even know how long I was on my own out there. My new uncle and aunt took me to the vet to see if I was chipped but I was not, and did not have a collar either. I was introduced to a couple willing to foster me until we found my family and/or until I could safely be taken to the humane society after spending time in a cold dark police station.

After a few emotional days, I learned my family did not want me anymore I don't know if it was because of my age or why, I was sadly howling in the police station, wondering when I could be brought home. I stole the foster parent's hearts from day one, but they already have an elderly dog they tend to who has Cushing's disease, but then a light bulb went off. If money was the only reason why they couldn't take me, maybe we could find some friends and family who would be willing to help out by covering my initial vet fees so I can be adopted by a loving home with an older sister.

And so - I now have a loving family. They already took me to the vet. Turns out I haven't had vet care in at least 3 years, I had to get up to date on all my vaccinations which were at least 4 vaccines and boosters. I also have a weak bladder so the vet had to take a urine and stool sample and put me on medication to help me with that. I need bloodwork to ensure I don't have any long-term challenges to be aware of so my new parents can keep me healthy, which is $265.

All said and done - so far the vet bill is $795. If you can, please help my new parents as they have turned their lives upside down to take me in and spare me having to experience a cold kennel at a humane society for who knows how long.

Thank you to anyone who chips in, it is the best present I could have ever imagined!
