Hi everyone, 

I am reaching out to share a story that truly touches the heart. My best friend Shannon Pikka has a beautiful dog named Riley, a 6-year-old Basenji mix she rescued in Minnesota about 5 years ago. Riley is not just a pet; he’s Shannon's best boy, bringing joy and companionship every day. 

Recently, Riley faced a sudden health crisis. After showing signs of pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, his condition quickly worsened, leading Shannon to Urgent Care. Following several tests, he was referred to an Emergency Vet, where he was diagnosed with HGE/AHDS (Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis/Acute Hemorrhagic Diarrhea Syndrome) and then later found to have Pancreatitis. He spent all of Saturday hospitalized and continues to receive critical care. The cause of his illness remains unknown. 

Shannon needs our support to help Riley through this challenging time. As many of you know, veterinary care, especially in emergencies, can be overwhelming financially. If you are able and willing to help, your contributions would mean the world to us. The bill has already reached $8700, and we fear it might rise further.
