My name is Sabrina. In early 2025 I had a sudden diabetic medical emergency in a public place. A responding officer found me in obvious distress — disoriented, unable to care for myself. Instead of calling for medical help he allowed me to leave. Minutes later I was in a serious accident.

Medical treatment at the hospital confirmed what my diagnosis already showed — this was a diabetic medical emergency. My foot was broken in three places and misdiagnosed as a sprain at the hospital. Due to the negligence of the responding officer I was arrested for something I did not do. I have not been found guilty of anything. Yet for over fourteen months I have been forced to pay fines, fees, and legal costs that an innocent person should never be subjected to. That is not justice. That is punishment before proof.

Eight months later the person I loved for 25 years was gone. Garrett died in October 2025 trying to help me financially survive this situation. We were going to get married. He is gone and I am doing this alone.

In January 2025 I had $31,000 in savings. Today I have nothing. Legal fees. Monthly device fees of $400 I cannot afford. An attorney who took $9,500 and filed nothing for fourteen months. A mortgage falling behind. Food cost increasing.. A broken foot that has never had an MRI. And a medical finding from early 2025 I am scared to face because I cannot afford to.

I worked for the State of Florida for fifteen years. I earned my retirement. I did nothing wrong. But I have paying for someone else's mistake every single day since early 2025 — financially, physically, and emotionally.

I am not asking for sympathy. I am asking for a chance to breathe. To keep my the roof over my head and keep my lights on. To get the medical care I have been denied. To pay the fees I am threatened with jail over. To be able to buy the food I have to eat with the diabetes diagnosis for myself and my little dog restrictive diets that he been eating since he was 2 he is 6 now, who depends entirely on me. I need to get back on my feet — literally and figuratively.

I have been knocked down by things that were not my fault. But I am still standing. I am still fighting. And I believe — I have to believe — that things can get better. With a little help from kind people I have never met I think they can.
