My family has been struggling recently to meet our basic needs. I got laid off in august of last year and my husband is the only person working. His pay rate has left us fighting between paying utilities and groceries leaving us just enough to scrape by until his next pay. Our current lot rent is 1,195 and his typical paycheck will barely cover that. He gets paid bi weekly. I have been aggressive about trying to find employment but have not had any luck. The few interviews I have had did not turn into a job offer. We are currently technically only on month behind on rent but received a letter June 22 that they will be starting the eviction process. Our lot rent is considered to be late if it is received after the 5th. On June 10 they send a demand of payment letter that granted us 5 days to pay or stated we should vacate the property. My husband will be getting paid July 1st but will still not cover the 2 months of lot rent that will be due at that time. I do own my home but not the land that it is on. I bought this home as a place to start over after my family lost their home to a fire in 2017. I have reached out to 211, local churches for assistance but they have no funding. I have also tried multiple organizations like Salvation Army etc. we are hoping to raise enough funds to cover what we owe for June (late fee included) as well as upcoming July. We will also need funding to cover any legal fees that are accrued with them starting the eviction process. We are asking for 3,000 to ensure we can cover the months rent and have a safety net as I’m not sure how much the legal fees will be.
