Help us better our life
Me and my husband have recently decided to get clean and sober so we can get out of the horrible hold addiction has had on us for many years...my husband has been clean and sober for 15 months while I have been clean and sober for 26 days and counting...thanks to his brothers my husband started a job last week and I have been trying for months to get help from the county and our health insurance(because it recently became a referral process started by 211 and our insurance) to get us off the streets and out of our car that we live in 24/7 with our 2 small dogs but it seems like NO matter what I do or how long we are placed on the many waiting lists there are we just haven't had any luck getting into any of the county and state funded housing opportunities there are supposed to be...so as a last ditch effort I am reaching out to the community and many social media platforms to see if there would be anyone willing to help us out even if it's just for a couple days so we can get a motel room so we can have somewhere to feel safe and warm and so my husband can sleep and have somewhere to relax when he gets off of a long day of work and doesn't have to stress or worry about us being pulled up on by the police and messed with for living in our car because yes it is illegal to be homeless and everyday we have to move from spot to spot so we're not in one place for too long and catch the attention of someone bothered by our situation or the police....we are just trying to feel like normal people and feel like the struggles we have been going thru even after getting clean won't be so bad that we let the vicious cycle of addiction take hold of us again...people forget that having a bed to sleep in and food in there mouth as well as being able to shower and put clean clothes on can make all the difference in the world for someone struggling to be able to do that everyday....any help we receive will be so greatly appreciated and used ONLY to make that difference for us...we are determined to stay clean and sober and I'm sure if we could just get a lil help keeping our foot in the door of recovery it will show us that all our pain and struggles and decisions to better our lives was the best decision we could have made!
