Help Bring Robert Home – Support His Jail and Legal Defense Fund

Robert Dunlap is a devoted father, son, brother, and husband who needs your help. Robert is currently facing a complicated legal challenge as some of you know. At this time, he is being held at the Metropolitan Correction Center in Chicago without bond. Robert is innocent until proven guilty and deserves the right to gather the evidence and defense needed to free himself and clear his name. However, he cannot do that from jail.

Robert has always been a loving and supportive presence in so many lives. He has worked tirelessly to help people when and where he could. We have all witnessed his passion and his heart, and know he is a good man.

Robert is a father of five children, who love and miss him very much. In his family, he is the pillar of strength and stability that holds everyone and everything together. These past 6 months have been incredibly challenging for his mother, sister, wife and children who all depend on him more than they realized.

It has been very hard on all of us so we are now asking for your help.

As some of your know, legal expenses are very costly and the financial cost of freeing Robert has primarily fallen on his wife, kids, sister and mother. Each member of his family and close friends, have already spent MANY thousands of dollars trying to get him a bond so he can get out of jail and properly defend himself.

His bond consideration was initially denied the first week he was detained, due to a complete lack of preparation or awareness of what was happening. We were all in shock and did not know what we needed to do at that time. We applied for a reconsideration bond hearing, which was also denied on August 15th. Now, we have escalated the bond request to the appeals court hoping they will honor the precedence that has already been established in the 7th circuit by many previous cases for him to receive a bond release.

Robert's assets have been frozen, stolen, or are unable to be accessed in any way to help support him while this process unfolds and to help get him released. 

And unfortunately, cost has become too high for us manage or be successful on our own. 

We ask graciously and humbly that if you have ever been touched by Robert's life in some way, or simply have compassion for a fellow human being in a really tough position and family in need, please support our fund to help us get Robert through this unimaginable situation.

We, like so many of you, believe Robert has a good heart and has only ever wanted to make the world a better place.
